Project Summary
The apartments at 1616 Hardesty will be the first phase of providing housing on campus, improving opportunities and access for families, seniors, workforce, and teachers living and working in the adjacent community. The housing is a new construction apartment project including fifty units. The project will be approximately 60,000 square feet on four stories, consisting of one- and two-bedroom units.
Project Amenities
The project will have plenty of amenities for the residents, including an outdoor patio with a pergola and grilling station, a multipurpose community room for events, and a rooftop patio/garden to enjoy the view of downtown Kansas City. There will be a controlled access entry managed by a smart door application, as well as onsite management and maintenance.
Other Services Included
Tenants who meet the criteria will have access to Guadalupe Center’s comprehensive services, including emergency assistance, case management, adult education, workforce training, youth educational programs, and more.
Rent and Income Requirements
The $17 million project is financed with Affordable Housing Tax Credits from the Missouri Housing Development Commission. Forty-two units will be income-restricted, while eight units will be unrestricted and rented at market rents.

Online applications will be accepted 120 days before the anticipated opening date.
What is the application process/turnaround time?
Applications will be processed on a first come first served basis when received. Use the Apply Now link to start with the simple online application and pay the app fee. You will be able to upload your photo ID and income verification documents. Applications require 3rd party verifications and a paid deposit. Compliance begins the verification process when both the online application, and the tax credit application is received, and deposit has been paid
